Itinerary

Day 01

• At 09:00hrs, depart Kuching by van for 4½ hours leisure drive to the Batang Ai Jetty.  There will be three stopovers along the route: - I) Serian, a predominantly Dayak trading town,   II) Chinese farm house to see how pepper and cocoa are grown and (III) at Lachau for lunch.   The journey passes through scenic countryside of rice fields, rubber, cocoa, pepper and oil palm plantations, which intermingle with luxuriant tropical rainforest, rivers and mountain ranges.  Upon arrival at the river jetty, proceed by motorized longboat for about 45 minutes crossing the Batang Ai Lake passing through scenic views, rice fields, fish farms and clear water to reach the Longhouse.  Proceed to the longhouse for a warm welcome by the natives, tour the longhouse, watch the natives at work such as making mats, baskets, handicrafts and mending fish nets.   Join the natives in their daily chores, like feeding their livestock, washing clothes, swim in the river or just relax at the side of the Lake.  After dinner, socialize with the longhouse dwellers, presentation of gifts and witness cultural performances before retiring for the night at the Longhouse.  (LD)

Day 02

• Breakfast, depart by longboat (2 hours) to Ulu Ai river negotiating some rapids and tricky bends, fishing, collect jungle produce with
  lunch in native style at the river bank before arriving at Jingin Longhouse.
• Trekking through the forest to study the flora, fauna, before arriving at Batang Ai National Park and the area where wild Orang Utan
  are normally spotted.  Assist to set-up camp, building of shelter with beds, preparing dinner and overnight at the Camp.   (BLD)

Day 03

• Breakfast, trek further into through the rainforest in search of the wild Orang Utan that roam this area and other wildlifes with picnic-
  lunch provided.   In the late afternoon, return to the Camp to prepare dinner and overnight at the Camp.  (BLD)

Day 04

• Breakfast, trek back to Jingin Longhouse with lunch at the river bank, depart by boat to the Jetty, then by van to Kuching and transfer
  to the hotel.  (BL)
